Asit Sen: When I first met Rajesh he was a thoroughly frustrated man. He was so unhappy about his career that he used to say, ‘Dada, I think I will never make it.’ When I started Khamoshi he was under contract with the United Producers and so our first choice for the role. Of course, he suited the role. As an artiste, he is okay, just theek hai. As a person, he is moody and very unpredictable, but not bad at heart. I am no authority on the causes of his setback but I don’t like the way some people say that his directors are responsible for his failure. When he was a superstar nobody gave credit to his directors. Nobody said that we made him. So now that he is fading, why blame us?
