Emraan Hashmi though confesses that he was approached by Pooja Bhatt for the sequel of Jism, titled Jism 2, however he has turned down the offer. He is not doing the film officially. “I don’t know about the final casting, but this role is definitely going to someone else,” says Emraan, reasoning that he is already working on Murder 3. “I don’t want to take on another erotic thriller and repeat myself.”
Post Murder 2 and The Dirty Picture, Emraan is on his high these days. He has given two superhits this year. He might be eleated by this success! He smiles and says, “As an actor it is good for the ego to know that the numbers are going up. My box-office value is increasing and it’s reflecting at the grassroot level. I don’t need critics to endorse me. It’s enough to know that I can draw people to the theatres on Fridays. I’m playing my song, whether you want to listen to it or not, is your choice entirely.”
Don’t get Emraan wrong guys, he is not against sequels. If it had been so he wouldn’t have been doing ‘Jannat 2’. The movie has just taken off and will be completed soon expectedly.
“From match-fixing, we’ve moved to illegal trading in arms and ammunition as another man from a small town continues his quest for heaven,” says Emraan Hashmi.
Next year Raaz 3 D, the third in the Raaz series, would be taking off. Vikram Bhatt and Bipasha Basu would be returning to their franchise after a gap of ten years.
So if Emraan could do Raaz 3D then why not Jism 2? “As I explained Jism and Murder belong to the same genre. And while the original Jism had John Abraham, I featured in both the Murder movies and have become synonymous with the brand,” he says, adding, “This may sound like a boast but it’s a fact, I don’t think they can make a Murder without me.”
